Improving Livelihood's Print E-mail

We have helped the people of Cavite and Mindoro by introducing programs that improve and provide a sustainable livelihood.  The women have been creating cross stitch towels, necklaces and bracelets; some of which have been exported to Norway, America and England.  These ladies are extremely encouraged by their ability to earn through this project and be able to help their husbands to provide for their children.

ministries without borders was able to purchase two carabaos (a type of water buffalo) in Mindoro for the benefit of 17 Mangyan farmers who were also given capital assistance for the palay. These animals are a big help for them in tilling the soil and also for transporting their products from the mountain to the highway. These will also be utilised to produce milk and the proceeds of which will be used to pay back the capital invested and finance some expenses in the program implementation.

We have conducted various training courses for women in food preservation/processing, soap/perfume and fabric conditioners.  Through these courses the locals have been able to secure capital assistance which they have invested in the production of dishwashing liquid and fabric conditioners.

Testimony from the island of Palawan:

"We thought we were just meeting a little group of people there, but there were a great number of people there!  We were preaching and 60% of those gathered gave their lives to the Lord and it was so fantastic to see.  There was a man with cancer on the left hand side of his face and as we were praying for him the cancer just disappeared.  It was fantastic!  So now we have a church there and we can see leaders filled with the Holy Spirit coming forth."  Arne Skagen (Norway)
