Since 2002, over one hundred students have come to the school from over twenty churches and from as far afield as Africa, Indonesia, India and North America. The school was founded by Dr. Keri Jones and was originally based in the Midlands and known as Covenant College, where it graduated over 180 students between 1990 and 2002. From its beginnings, the school instilled in its students a desire to grow in love and knowledge of both the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. The school’s maxim, “Sharpened to Serve”, emphasised its focus in training all those eager to further the purposes of God in their generation. In doing so, the school combined an uncompromising vision for a dynamic and biblical expression of Christianity with a well developed programme of systematic teaching. That uncompromising vision was maintained as the college moved to Cardiff in South Wales in 2002 and was renamed Covenant School of Ministries: School of the Word. The school motto is: "Heb Dduw – Heb Ddim" and means “Without God – Without Anything” or, “With God all things are possible”. This encapsulates once more the desire of all who teach and study at School of the Word to bring glory to the Lord Jesus.
From September 2008, School of the Word will be hosted in Manchester, England. |
