kadilawan Village restoredThe village of Kadilawan was totally destroyed by a typhoon.  30 families were left without homes and their entire crop had been spoiled. After the typhoon had hit we found the people in the ruins of their houses, still giving thanks to the Lord for their survival.   In the village the water well was the size of a bucket and everyone had to walk 100 meters down in the valley to collect water.

Thanks to ministries without borders, all the 30 families now live in new houses they have been able to build themselves. Clean water is pumped up in a water tank distributing the water to the whole village.  Everyone in the village has a job, in addition to farming their fields, and they have been able to purchase bicycles to be used going to work.

Now they plan to get electricity to the village because for the first time in their lives they earn enough to pay the electric bill. Every week 90% of the population gathers for bible study in the new multi-purpose house, giving thanks to the Lord for the great things He has done for them.

In 2007 the village accommodated 120 teachers from the whole municipality of Abra de Ilog. The leader of Kadilawan felt honoured when he welcomed them all to the new multi-purpose hall for their day of planning. The teachers were astonished by the transformation of the area.  It was a great joy to lecture to all the teachers about ministries without borders and the Kingdom of God. The same week we had the joy of marrying 14 couples in the village. They had been living together by the approval of the elders, but did not have the papers to show that they were legally married. We celebrated a great wedding and they were all  rejoicing. The Kingdom of God brings transformation and His love changes individuals, couples and whole communities.
